This month, Japan’s digital minister said he’s ready to take an iron-fisted approach to speed up the nation’s embrace of online services at government. Days later, Japan confirmed it will scrap health insurance cards in fall 2024 and integrate them into the "My Number" national identification system.
The foreign ministers of Japan and Canada have agreed to begin negotiations on an agreement for exchanging intelligence to boost security cooperation, and Japan said it will start exporting to India stealth antennas equipped on a new destroyer.
Finally, Google said it wants to invest $690 million in Japan.
