A Farewell for Now - Thank You for Being Part of TÉKUNI!
Dear TÉKUNI readers,
I hope this message finds you all well. Can you believe it? Three years have flown by since the inception of this newsletter. Time has a funny way of sneaking up on us, and as I reflect on this incredible journey, I can't help but feel a sense of awe at how much has transpired. Through it all, I've cherished every moment of curating and nurturing this newsletter, witnessing its growth alongside the vibrant Substack community.
I don’t like goodbyes, so I’ll tell you this the old-fashioned and familiar way that you know and love!
The Good
TÉKUNI started as a passion project, and as a journalist and Japan lover, I always wanted it to be free. I have considered creating an enhanced version with additional features that I could eventually monetize, but time constraints have not made this possible. However, I'm happy to announce that the existing issues of the newsletter will remain online. So, in the case TÉKUNI makes a comeback one day, you can remain subscribed and continue to enjoy its content. I'll also keep you updated on my future projects regarding technology in Japan.
The Bad
I must be transparent with you. I don't know if TÉKUNI will come back. My work-life balance will be delicate over the next few months, and I do not want to risk burning out. I have learned from past mistakes and want to prioritize my well-being and mental health. However, please know that the passion and dedication behind TÉKUNI remain alive, and I am leaving the door open for a potential return in the future.
The Quirky
While I continue working as a tech journalist for various publications, I am currently building up my narrative design portfolio and working on my first game with a small group of incredibly talented people. It's an exciting endeavor, and I can't wait to share it with you! If you're interested in playing the game once it's released, please feel free to get in touch. Your support and feedback mean the world to me.
Once again, thank you so much for being a part of TÉKUNI all this time. Your readership and engagement have been invaluable, and I am truly grateful for your continued support. It has been an incredible trip thus far, filled with learning, sharing, and connecting with fellow enthusiasts.
While I bid farewell to TÉKUNI for now, I sincerely hope our paths cross again in the future, whether through the revival of TÉKUNI or in other exciting ventures.
またね,
Alessandro
